9/11- Twenty Years On.

We all remember where we were the day the planes crashed into the Towers of the World Trade Centre in New York City.

20 years on and the images from that day are as present in our minds now as they were the morning after when the news was printed of the tragic event. The most iconic skyline in the world was now a shattered image of anguish and pain. The blue sky over the city was as picturesque as it could be, it was a perfect late summer morning that seemed to promise hope and happiness, until the sky froze and the world as we knew it changed forever. American Airline planes, carrying innocent civilians took their last flight heading towards the two Towers in the deadliest terror attack against humanity. As horrific as these images are, we must allow these memories to live on, we must constantly remind ourselves of the devastating events that took so many innocent lives. The day that shook the world, September 11th is a day we must never forget.

That morning I was at home in my bedroom taking a short nap, we had actually just flown in from Miami and I was doing my best to avoid the inevitable jet lag, when I was called to see the devastating news. My sister and I had been in Florida for a competition, but prior to that we had toured another state of America on our yearly family holiday. We had spent a week in New York just 3 weeks before 9/11.
